Abstract— There are many types of microstrip patch antenna that can be used for applications of communication systems. This paper presents the design of a series-fed microstrip patch antenna array to operate at the frequency of 3.4 GHz. Two types of feeding techniques are used here. One is transformer. Rectangular U-slot Patch Antenna for 5.6 GHz; Ring-Resonator Microstrip Antenna; Shorted C-Shaped Microstrip Antenna Stacked U-slot Antenna; Wideband Double U-slot Patch Antenna for 1 GHz to 2 GHz; Wideband RSMA with U-slot 0.8 GHz for 1.3 GHz; Dual-Band Circularly Polarized S-shaped Slotted Antenna; USB-Dongle PCB Antenna for 2.4GHz. A microstrip-fed slot antenna was designed using Antenna Magus for the following specifications:

  • 5 GHz centre frequency
  • 50 Ω input impedance
  • FR4 substrate, ε = 4.35, height = 1.5mm
